Lijiang Ancient Town

From the airport to the Lijiang Ancient Town, the driver will tell you that Lijiang has an existing born population of 300,000 and now has an external population of more than 3 million people. Therefore, the Lijiang Ancient Town has been commercialized very seriously. It is recommended not to buy things in the ancient city, but what the tour guide tells to you is basically all about shops. When you are walking on the road in the Lijiang Ancient Town, you will feel that it is a bit like walking in Beijing’s Houhai or South Luogu Lane.

The contrast with Beijing is that there are fewer people, and of course it may be the reason for the off-season. This experience is very good.

It is estimated that some roads are anti-cultivation, but some roads should be left over from history.

Because Yunnan is in the earthquake zone, the house is not built very high, especially in the Lijiang Ancient Town.

Lijiang Ancient Town costs 80 yuan for the maintenance of the ancient town. Some local people will take you into the ancient town at a very low price. Usually it is a lie, so take care not to be cheated. Lijiang Ancient Town does not charge the maintenance fee of the ancient town at night. Most people think that it is better to take pictures during the day in the ancient town of Lijiang. You can also see the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain in the Lijiang Ancient Town during the day.

During the day, there is the beauty of the day, and at night it is good at night. At night, there will be more people and the ancient town has more bright lights. The two big houses in the ancient town can see the big moon hanging in the sky which looks like a big moon cake. And you may feel that the scenery seen by the former people should be no different from the scenery now seen in Lijiang Ancient Town.

At night, the Lijiang Ancient Town is very noisy. Many small bars are open. Many singers are singing in deep affection as if they could bring you into their world. Some beautiful women who are good at doing business will also play the live broadcast of the mobile phone while tapping the drums.

Temple of Heaven

The Temple of Heaven was recognized as a World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO in 1998 and is one of Beijing’s landmarks. It is recommended to buy a joint ticket, otherwise the most spectacular Hall of Prayer will not be seen.

If your time is tight during your tour in Beijing, then this attraction can actually be skipped, but if you have plenty of time, you will not be disappointed having a visit there. But don’t forget buying a joint ticket, otherwise, you can only see the wonderful part from a distance, especially the Hall of Prayer, if your tour in the Temple of Heaven does not include the Hall of Prayer, why you buy a ticket to the Temple of Heaven, you can just buy a ticket to walk around the park.

The Hall of Prayer is still very beautiful, and it looks good no matter from a close look or from a distance. Several other attractions are also worth seeing, but let’s be honest, for this place where ancient sacrifices were put, the visual effect will be better in the past ages, and it was solemn, but after all kinds of huge buildings we have seen today, the feeling of shock is a lot worse.

Many people like the cypress forest outside of the Temple of Heaven. And if you make your travel there in the fall, and there will be already a lot of fallen leaf outside, and the Temple of Heaven is still lush. And the woods are really big, you can’t see the end, when walking in it, there are only the sound of birds and the sound of the wind blowing the leaves, you will feel that the mind has to be evolved. This feeling can’t be described. Do you say that cypress has anything to look at? But the reason that most of the attractions are shocking, is nothing more than two words, big and many, this is not what you felt on the TV. You will be very happy to come to the Temple of Heaven on the last day of your Beijing Tour and pain a perfect ending for your trip to Beijing.

Sera Monastery

Sera Monastery is located in the northern suburbs of Lhasa. It costs about 40 yuan when going there from the city. The Tibetans in the scenic area are free to open. Tickets for other tourists are 50 Yuan/person.

After entering the scenic spot, some temples are still being renovated, and large trucks are driving in and out, which is very dangerous. The main halls and the shacks are very beautiful, especially the murals and Buddha statues which are created hundreds of years ago are invaluable. It is recommended that everyone is civilized traveling and loves cultural relics.

Sera Monastery is well known to outsiders for its dok, but Sera Monastery not just has debate. Walking on the path, you can turn around every corner of the temple and feel the past of the Sera Monastery.

After 15:00 o’clock in the afternoon, there will be many halls closed. It is recommended to visit the Sera Monastery in the morning or at noon. In the afternoon, you can take a look at the debate.

At the gate of the Sera Monastery, there are not many believers. Instead, there will be more tourists than believers. They are all rushing through the wonderful debates.

The Sera Monastery is not as grand as Drepung Monastery, not as solemn as Jokhang Temple, but the debate of the Sera Monastery is definitely the most distinctive and the most one that cannot be missed.

After watching the debate, you may feel that it is just like watching a wonderful performance, and basically you still don’t know that they are debating. Perhaps its charm is to let people feel that under the pure blue sky and white clouds of Tibet, there is piety, simplicity and concentration of faith, which is wonderful!

During visiting the Sera Monastery, you will see a lot of Thangka murals and exquisite paintings, which make people feel the strong Buddhist atmosphere. The monks in the hall are chanting, and you may look forward to their simple life.

The Potala Palace

The Potala Palace is very close to the Jokhang Temple. It is 20 minutes from the Jokhang Temple. It is a place for taking pictures. There are many believers kowtowing in the door of the palace.

The Potala Palace in April is still the winter in Tibet. In order to promote winter tourism, Tibet’s main attractions are free of tickets, including the Potala Palace. However, there are only 2,000 tickets per day, and there are only a few hundred scattered tickets. It is impossible for oneself to queue up buying the tickets one day or two days in advance. So, you still need to spend money to join a local 1-day group. Of course, having a professional tour guide is also good for you to have better experience while visiting Tibet.

The outer walls of the Potala Palace are painted once a year, so even though it has a history of thousands of years, it is still as new. The paint is mixed with milk, honey, white sugar, etc. in white ash, and is carefully brushed by the believers.

The Potala Palace has only four colors, red symbolizes authority, white symbolizes peace, black symbolizes solemnity, yellow symbolizes prosperity, the roof and windows of the palace are made of wooden structure, the corners of the house are raised, and the copper tiles are gold.

From the White House to the Red Palace, you can take pictures. After entering the Red Palace, you can’t take pictures. There are time limits. You must complete the tour within an hour. There are quite a few stairs to climb and you need some physical strength. In addition, there are toilets with the highest altitude in the world. You can experience it.

It is said that because there are too many tourists coming to the Potala Palace every year, the foundation of the Potala Palace is in danger of sinking. Maybe the Red Palace will not be open to the public in a few years, so if you want to have a look at these treasures, just take time, you will have an enjoyable tour in Tibet.

Shanghai Shengjianbao

When you are having a travel in Shanghai, don’t forget to taste the snacks in Shanghai too.

Shanghai Shengjianbao can be said to be a native Shanghai snack, which is said to have a history of hundreds of years. Its characteristics are: crisp skin, thick juice, delicious meat. With a bite of the Shengjianbao, the smell of meat, oil, onion, and sesame will not dissipate in the mouth for a long time. Because Shanghai people used to call “Baozi” as “steamed bread”, so the Shengjianbao in Shanghai is generally called the Pan-Fried Steamed Bun. Formerly it is the sideline variety of the tea house, tiger stove (Boiling shop). The stuffing inside is mainly made of fresh pork and frozen skin. After the 1930s, the Shanghai catering industry has a professional shop for Pan-Fried Steamed Bun, and the color of the stuffing has also increased the variety of chicken and shrimp.

The bottom of the outer skin of the Shanghai Shengjianbao is fried into golden color, and some sesame and shallot are sprinkled in the upper part. It smells fragrant and you will bite a mouthful of soup, which is very popular among Shanghainese. The finished product is white, soft and loose, the meat is tender with marinade, and there are sesame and onion flavors when crunching. When it is taken out from the pot, it is the best time to eat it.

The evaluation for the Shanghai Shengjianbao is: “The skin is thin but not broken and not burnt, the second yeast is baked, the fresh soup is full of mouth, and it is a failure when the bottom is thick and burnt.” It shows the advantages of the Shanghai Shengjianbao, but also remind you that just don’t buy those the Shanghai Shengjianbao whose bottom is thick and burnt, as it will be not delicious.
